Portugal Residence Permit

Portugal Work Permit – An Effective pathway towards permanent European settlement

Whether one needs a visa for Portugal depends on his/her nationality and purpose of stay. Residents of non-EU/EFTA countries will need a valid passport (valid for at least six months) plus a Portuguese visa if required.

After Receiving the Schengen Visa (Preferably for Paris or any other country), one can make legal entry into Portugal. On entry, Portuguese immigration authorities may check that you have sufficient finances for the duration of your stay or a return ticket.

On reaching Portugal our associates will help you to get legal entry permit in Portugal. Once you get legal entry permit, you can search for work in Portugal.

After working in Portugal for at least 6 months, you can apply for Temporary Residency Card (TRC).  After staying and working in Portugal for 5 years you can apply for a permanent residence visa and after one more year, you can get citizenship/passport of Portugal.

However, in order to be eligible for citizenship after 6 years, you must pass a language test or can join any institute and complete 300 hours classes.

Portugal Temporary Residency Card (TRC) Process:

Step 1: Apply for Schengen visit visa for any country

Step 2: Enter Portugal on valid visa. Airport pickup will be provided by our associate in Portugal

Step 3: Apply for legal entry under article 80 section B rule

Documents required – Passport, Valid visa, Hotel Booking, Boarding Pass, Train or Bus Tickets

Step 4: Apply for Finance & Social security paper (PR/Citizen/TRC card holder must provide guarantee letter which will be given by our associate)

Step 5: Apply for Junta Paper – Address proof (will be arranged by the associate)

Step 6: Apply for Job by your own or will be assisted by our associate.

If you are hired by a Portuguese employer then tax will be paid by the employer which is appx. Euro 231 for basic salary or higher depends on monthly salary.

Step 7: Submit PCC (MOFA stamped) from your country of origin & wherever you have stayed on a valid visa as required by SEF Portugal

Step 8: Request for an appointment and get biometric done after paying minimum 6-months’ tax.

Step 9: Receive receipt of TRC card via mail within 3-4 weeks from the biometric record date.
